The 12 first-level administrative regions of Morocco.
- Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma: Northernmost region bordering the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean Sea.
- Oriental: Northeastern region bordering Algeria to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the north.
- Fès-Meknès: Inland northern region centered around the historic imperial cities of Fez and Meknes.
- Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: Northwestern coastal region housing the national capital, Rabat.
- Béni Mellal-Khénifra: Central inland region encompassing the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges.
- Casablanca-Settat: West-central coastal region containing Morocco's largest city and economic center, Casablanca.
- Marrakech-Safi: Central-western region extending from the Atlantic coast through the historic city of Marrakech.
- Drâa-Tafilalet: Southeastern inland region characterized by desert oases and pre-Saharan valleys.
- Souss-Massa: Central-southern region around the Souss river valley and the coastal city of Agadir.
- Guelmim-Oued Noun: Southern transitional region linking northern Morocco to the Sahara.
- Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra: Southern region situated in the northern part of Western Sahara centered around Laâyoune.
- Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab: Southernmost administrative region situated in Western Sahara centered around the coastal city of Dakhla.
